The English Football Association reported that from January of last year to this season, Premier League clubs have paid 318.2 million pounds ($392.4 million) in mediation and agent costs.
This marks an increase of 46 million pounds over the previous 12 months, according to a report from the federation.
The current winner, Manchester City, earned the most money—51.6 million pounds sterling—during a time when they also acquired Norwegian striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
Liverpool paid 33.7 million pounds, Manchester United 24.7 million pounds, and Chelsea 43.2 million pounds.
Despite adding more players in the last two transfer windows than any other team in the top division, Nottingham Forest paid the least, at £4.4 million.
