The European Football Association (UEFA) announced, Wednesday 6th of April, that Real Madrid, the winner of the European Champions League, has won the grand prize, worth 133.7 million euros.
Real Madrid received a monetary reward for making it past the group stage, as well as additional payments based on the team’s past performance in UEFA competitions, broadcasting rights in Spain, and additional rewards for the results.
Liverpool, who finished second to Real Madrid in the competition, received a total of 120 million euros from the two billion euros in “UEFA” prizes.
Bayern Munich, which lost to Manchester City in the quarterfinals, received 110 million euros in compensation, and Manchester City, which advanced to the semifinals, received nearly 109 million euros in compensation.
And Real Madrid deducted Paris Saint-Germain, of France, from the final price in order to receive 92 million euros from “UEFA.”
According to (UEFA), the 32 teams in the group stage received an average of 61.8 million euros, with the Moldovan Sheriff Tiraspol team receiving the least amount of funding at 23.7 million euros.
With 38 million euros, the winner of the competition was Eintracht Frankfurt.
Roma, the Italian champions of the inaugural European Conference League, received 19.2 million euros ($257 million) more than any other team. UEFA distributed 235 million euros ($257 million) to the clubs that took part.
